How to transfer money from one account to another using your mobile without internet access?

You do not need an internet connection to transfer money to an account using your mobile phone.  You can use NUUP, short for National Unified USSD Platform. NUUP is a mobile banking service provided by NPCI (National Payment Cooperation of India) which works on USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) technology.  USSD technology, which is unique to GSM handsets, provides session-based communication enabling a variety of applications.  USSD codes are typically used to activate and deactivate services, check available balance, recharge your account, etc.

You can transfer money using NUUP in two ways:

Using MMID and Mobile Number
Dial *99# from your Mobile.
Enter 3 letters of your bank’s short name, first 4 letters of IFSC code or the 2 digit bank numeric code
Once you enter a valid short name, IFSC code or 2 digit bank numeric code you will get a menu with a list of available services enabled for your bank.
Enter 3 for Fund Transfer using MMID and mobile number and submit.
Enter Beneficiary mobile number, MMID and amount.
Enter MPIN.
A confirmation screen will appear showing whether the transaction was a success or a failure.

Fund Transfer using IFSC and Account Number
